Our picture shows Charlie O'Kelly from The Niall Mellon Township Trust with Dermot Hickey (2nd. Place), Eamonn Quinn (!st. Place), Derek Evans (3rd. Place) and Gary Collins, Sporting Proud.
Eamonn Quinn and Caron Mullen won the Men's and Ladies competition respectively at Saturday's 2009 Sporting Proud Triathlon. In terrific conditions on the very popular course Quinn completed the event in just two hours, twenty-six minutes and fifty-two seconds. Mullen came in at two hours, forty-nine minutes and forty-four seconds.
This was the 11th. time the annual event has been held at Britas Bay and was run in aid of the Niall Mellon Township Trust. More specifically, funds raised from the event will enable the building of a school hall in the Wallacedene area of Cape Town where it will be accessible by more than 700 schools. The building is the first of its kind in the Cape Town area.
