THANK YOU
and farewell

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Sporting Proud will not be returning this year. Please read our full statement below.

Dear Athletes, Supporters & Volunteers of the Sporting Proud Triathlon

On behalf of the Sporting Proud Triathlon and Committee, we would like to thank each one of you for your help in raising an astounding €2.5 million for Children’s Charities over the past 26 years.

All good things must come to an end, however, and it is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Sporting Proud sadly will not be returning this year. After 26 incredible years, we have made the very difficult decision to bid farewell to our beloved annual Triathlon, with logistical challenges making it no longer viable to continue with the remarkable charity event.

We started this incredible journey with a run from Belfast to Cork in relay over a weekend in 1997. We then had our first official triathlon in Blessington Lakes 1998, followed by 22 Triathlons in Brittas Bay. Every year, this incredible community of partners, supporters, volunteers and athletes has continued to grow, and together, we have achieved something extraordinary.

Through our triathlon event, we have donated over €2.5 million to children's charities across Ireland, providing them with support and opportunities they deserve. This incredible milestone would not have been possible without your support, and you have our deepest gratitude.

We want to take a moment to express our most sincere thanks to all our partners, supporters, volunteers, and, most importantly, our phenomenal athletes. Your unwavering dedication and contributions over the years have made a huge difference to children's lives all over the country.

While this chapter closes, our commitment to children's well-being will continue to guide us in new ways.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.
