 Is this for me?

In a word, yes. The event caters for all levels of fitness from the elite triathletes to the first timer doing it as part of a team.  I think the fastest time we've recorded for the event is about 2hrs and 8 minutes (if anyone has  verifiable evidence that they've done it faster please write in!) and the slowest was probably about 5hrs, 30 minutes!

Now in an ideal world your really want to be targeting somewhere between these two extremes.  And really it's not that difficult.  We've had hundreds of people compete as part of a team one year and then having done so are determined to go it alone the next.  Of course, we've had others who have sworn off all forms of physical exercise after their first attempt but in general, people get a great buzz out of completing it and come back year after year to try and better their times.

The really good news is that the entire swim can be completed whilst still within your depth and that gives the beginners a nice safety net.

For the elite triathletes amongst you, we can guarantee a terrific event with some fierce competition.  We've had national and international triathlon champs, world-beating Iron men and international boxers too, so not only will you be in elite company - you'll also have to work hard for the medals.
